Don't ask.

My father basically abandoned me, or rather it was the beginning of his abandonment of and estrangement from me when I entered school, first grade, age six.

From then on, there was no more unconditional love, just measuring up, and I never did. It was the beginning of a long journey into trained helplessness.

I try to avoid the expectation that things will make sense. Rather, I pray daily that God will help see the blessings of the day and remember there are things in play that are greater than what I want and how I think things should be.
