What have you learned from having your heart broken?

Posted on Mar 21st, 2008 by Clifton : Infinitely Malleable Clifton
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 21, 2008:

It is a healing poison.

The soul becomes larger, a larger container.  The soul is more a container than an instrument.  You can offer shelter to others in it, like a mother bird spreading her wings over her nest to protect her young ones...

Lover, there will be another one
Who'll hover over you beneath the sun
Tomorrow see the things that never come
Today

When you see me Fly away without you
Shadow on the things you know
Feathers fall around you
And show you the way to go
It's over, it's over.

Nestled in your wings my little one
This special morning brings another sun
Tomorrow see the things that never come
Today

When you see me Fly away without you
Shadow on the things you know
Feathers fall around you
And show you the way to go
It's over, it's over.

In search of character and calling

Posted on Mar 26th, 2008 by Clifton : Infinitely Malleable Clifton
It’s important to ask yourself, “How am I useful to others? What do people want from me?” That may very well reveal what you are here for.

--James Hillman

Suppose throughout your childhood you were good with words. Or telling stories. Or drawing. There was a sense of drama when you read things. You told ghost stories that you made up on the fly. People in church wanted you to read things as a part of the service. You helped people find the right word when they were seraching for one. You made people laugh. You played guitar and people liked it. People wanted you to sing certain songs. You liked to read.
